Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza Presents a Slice of Generosity to the Manatee County Habitat for Humanity

A check presentation and a ceremonial slicing of the pizza with Community leaders are highlights of the grand opening celebration

In a display of community support, Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza, located in the Braden River Shopping Center, recently made a significant donation of $2,500 to the Manatee County Habitat for Humanity. The pizzeria has been a gathering spot for Floridians seeking delectable stone-fired pizzas, and now it solidifies its place as a new, caring neighbor in Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch by contributing to the construction of safe and affordable homes for families in need.

The donation was the result of a weekend initiative that took place from Thursday, August 17, to Saturday, August 19 as part of its grand opening celebration. During these three days, Piesanos allocated 50% of their alcohol sales from the Friends & Family pre-opening activities to support the noble cause championed by the Manatee County Habitat for Humanity. This initiative not only showcased Piesanos' commitment to community but also highlighted its innovative approach to giving back.

The culmination of this heartening effort took place on Monday, August 21, during Piesanos' grand opening celebration. A symbolic check of $2,500 was proudly presented to Bernie Quinn, the esteemed President and CEO of the Manatee County Habitat for Humanity. The donation will undoubtedly bolster Habitat's ongoing mission of constructing homes that provide not only shelter but also hope and stability for local families in need.

Joining Piesanos co-owners Joel Mills, Jerry Roberts, and Mike Akey, the grand opening celebration was a momentous event, graced by the presence of several distinguished guests who share Piesanos' commitment to the community. Bradenton Police Chief Melanie Bevan, East Manatee Fire Rescue District Chief Whitehurst, and Tim Fenimore from the Manatee Chamber of Commerce were among those who joined the festivities. These pizza-loving city and civic officials participated in a spicy ceremonial slicing of a Piesanos pie. Their participation not only highlighted the collaborative spirit that underpins community development but also emphasized the significance of partnerships between local businesses, public servants, and nonprofit organizations.

“Piesanos is honored to be a part of the Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch communities,” stated Jerry Roberts, co-owner of Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza. "We couldn’t imagine a better nonprofit than Manatee County Habitat for Humanity to show our commitment to the area.”

As the aroma of freshly baked pizzas wafts from Piesanos' ovens, it carries with it a message of compassion and unity. The restaurant's commitment to affordable housing through its donation to the Manatee County Habitat for Humanity shows that every slice of goodness contributes to building a stronger community.
